How it all got started…I was at a Jeffrey Gitomer presentation in August of '08 with my non-profit A Rose of Thanks and he said something to the effect that if you met 5 people per day 5 days a week you would meet over 1250 new contacts per year.
I took it a step further Kind of I started writing down personalized license plates but writing and driving at the same time can be dangerous. Do not try it…. The t-shirt idea and PL8ED came to me while driving
The 1st plate I designed was for a t-shirt I did for a myspace friend. I consider her a friend because I have met her and love her attitude and music. Katy Perry. Most people I have told that I liked her music – have said I am old enough to be her dad…but to me the bottom line it is about the music and the enjoyment she gets out of performing it.Some of the best ideas come to me while driving or being in the car. I was at my brothers retirement from the Air Force Reserves last fall and while on the base sitting in the car, I came up with the 1st t shirt or a version of it and drew it out. A License plate with the letters IKAG & ILI on it with the meaning being: I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It…..
The next one that came to me was LUVSTRY. This came to my mind as I was wrapping up a T-shirt design for A Rose of Thanks in order to raise funds to be able to print up more cards to send over to our troops.

Fast forward to March 27, 2009 …. I drove up from Charlotte see Katy in concert in Pontiac, MI and to give Katy and her tour manager a t-shirt. Well, that did not happen because they were on a tight schedule and could only allow a few people back stage. I had one for a friend I met at Katy's show in Charlotte on Katy's birthday last year, Jamie O. Well… Jamie did get to go backstage and meet Katy.
The next day I found out that Katy signed the t-shirt I gave to Jamie and said something to the effect of – dang that's cute, hey wait that isn't one of mine.
That’s when I figured I was on to something!
